Assassin's Creed has series-first Transgendered character

For the first time since the series debut in 2007, Assassin's Creed Syndicate will feature a male trangendered NPC. ACS creative director tells Eurogamer "We've made a good push towards diversity and how we approach different subjects in the game." This isn't the first time a transgender character has been created in the video game universe but it's definitely good to see it in such a high profile game. In 2014, Dragon Age Inquisition included the character Cremisius "Krem" Aclassi which was the first transgendered character Bioware had ever made. Companies like Bioware and Ubisoft are pushing the market into a more diverse and accepting environment and setting the example for other developers to follow.

Minecraft adding Oculus Rift Support in 2016

Oculus and Mojang announced that there will be virtual reality support coming to Minecraft in 2016. The game will be available on the Oculus store and the Microsoft store but beware that this isn't like the Hololens demo we saw at E3 this year. We're not sure what to expect or how the game will play but I can assure you that our addiction will only get stronger from here. Is virtual reality the future of gaming?

TBS forms own gaming league. Airing weekly Counter Strike Matches?

First ESPN looks to hire an "esports editor" and now TBS will be airing competitive gaming matches? Seems like everyone wants a bit of the esports pie but no worries there's enough for everyone! Turner Broadcasting announced that they will be airing esport events like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive matches on Friday evenings. More specifically, the network stated that they would focus on Counter-Strike for an entire year. Starting in 2016, the channel's league will host two 10-week tournaments which will include a regular season and playoffs and eventually culminating into a championship match much like traditional sports.
This turn in competitive gaming hasn't only caught the eye of these television giants but also the eye of Draft Kings. Draft Kings is a place where people can set up fantasy leagues for their favorite sports and earn money based on how well their fantasy team preformed. Draft Kings announced that it will let it's users to draft a team of pro gamers sometime in October right along side the League of Legends World Championship. There are so many questions that are left unanswered but we can expect to see a lot more competitive gaming in our daily lives.

Video game actors go on strike?

The union that represents video actors,SAG-AFTRA(Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), is asking it's members to vote on whether or not to strike. The SAG-AFTRA's Interactive Committee met with publishers such as EA, Activision and Disney on two different occasions (in 2015) to renegotiate terms such as royalties, secondary payments, and "vocal stress". After those two meetings, the committee believes they have reached an impasse. Both parties could not agree on terms which brought on the vote to strike. The original agreement, which was signed in the mid-1990s, is still in place today despite the radical changes in what actors are required to do. The union is asking for a reasonable performance bonus among other things. With this bonus, they state that actors should be paid for every 2 million copies or downloads sold. The union states that actors should share in the financial success of a game and be rewarded just as any other actor would.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Won't Have Campaign on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only include the traditional Zombies and competitive multiplayer modes. The game will not have a single player campaign according to Activision. Their reason was simple: The campaign was too "ambitious" for the old consoles to handle. The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Black Ops 3 are being developed by Beenox and Mercenary Technologies while the current gen consoles are being developed in-house with Treyarch. To compensate for the reduced feature, Black Ops 3 will be selling for $49.99 instead of the $59.99 and will come with a downloaded copy of the original 2010 Black Ops game.

Twitch App Coming to PS4 This Year

Let's be honest here, the share button on the PS4 doesn't get as much love as Playstation thought it would. Twitch seemed a lot less intuitive on the the Playstation 4 and to be honest, it turned me away from streaming on the PS4 for a long time. At this year's TwitchCon, Twitch revealed that a dedicated Twitch app will be coming to Playstation 4, Playstation 3, AND Playstation Vita. The dedicated Twitch app will arrive on Playstation 4 in October 2015. The details are still a bit unclear but that's a big plus if people are going to be able to stream from their Vitas and PS3s. A quick sidenote: A Twitch app will also be coming to the Oculus Rift allowing people to view streams and other gaming content in virtual reality.

This isn't news but here's a little something extra for this week!
