Kojima and Del Toro together for the meet up!

Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro previously worked on a title known as Silent Hills before the project completely fell apart. The two men are meeting up again but not announce a new project, but instead address the keynote for the 2016 D.I.C.E Summit later this month. The session is called "A Conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro." where the pair will discuss things like their creative processes and visions. In addition to this, Kojima will be inducted into D.I.C.E's hall of fame at the event. Good job Kojima, you deserve this after all the stuff you put up with.

Lifetime Achievement Award for a gaming genius

The Fallout and Elder Scrolls series provided some of our fondest memories as gamers. People could invest hours upon hours and still not see all there was to see in the immense and expansive universes that were created by this brilliant mind. Todd Howard, the Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Studios, will be honored with a lifetime award next month. Howard will receive his award at the Game Developers Choice Awards and is being honored because of his "innovative contributions to open world gameplay and game development." After 22 years of hard work, you truly have proven to be a visionary of the gaming industry and you deserve this award. Congrats Todd Howard.

Esports Pros arent just Pros anymore

A top pro German soccer team, Wolfsburg, has recently hired two pro FIFA players in an effort to branch out into the esports community and world of competitive gaming. The team picked up their new hires in hopes of being part of something revolutionary. They hope that in five years time, the Premier league will have adopted this new style of competitive play and turn this into a world recognized medium of entertainment. The pair that were hired will represent the football club in-person and online even going as far as  wearing the club's jersey. THIS IS BIG LADIES AND NERDS. THIS IS A HUGE STEP FOR GAMING IN GENERAL!

EXPOSED: DayZ forums hacked

There's been a breach people! RED ALERT! CODE 3! Okay but in all seriousness, the forums for the zombie game, DayZ, have been reportedly compromised. There has been a "security incident" that took place recently and it has exposed all usernames, emails, and passwords. Gamers have reported that Bohemia has sent out an email informing them of the issue and announced that changes are being made to the IpBoards to prevent future incidents, like this one, to occur in the future according to Bohemia. It's recommended you change your passwords for anything else that could've used a similar password. It's truly unclear how many accounts were really affected in relation to the security breach but it's probably better to take some precaution.

P.S Progress achieved in the Hitman beta will not carry forward to the full game.

Google's crack at the VR game
*This is not the New Google VR headset. This is the Gear VR which already is on the market

Google will launch a new virtual reality headset this year according to a new report from The Financial Times. The new headset is meant to be a direct competitor to the Samsung and Oculus VR headsets. The unnamed VR headset will reportedly use a smartphone for it's display and computing power and is also said to take advantage of a much broader range of android devices. The VR market is about to see a new competitor and it should be interesting to see how a VR headset powered by your smart compares to standalone headsets like the Oculus.
